As this is the first payment processing partner to be integrated – which doesn’t require any additional coding to get started, it is now the default option for the Digital Asset Marketplace plugin.

Setting Up PayPal Withdrawals with Digital Asset Marketplace:

Configuring PayPal withdrawals within the Digital Asset Marketplace is straightforward. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Navigate to “Settings > Digital Marketplace”.
  3. Navigate to the “Payments” section and opt for PayPal as a withdrawal method, under the “Payment Options” tab.
  4. Switch to the “Payment Methods” tab and enter your Client ID and Secret.
  5. Congratulations! Your Digital Asset Marketplace is now equipped for hassle-free PayPal withdrawals.

How to find your client ID and Secret

To access your client ID and Secret, head to your PayPal Business account and navigate to “Application Credentials” under “REST API apps.” Streamline your account management by renaming the application to “Digital Asset Marketplace.” This not only helps keep your credentials organized but also ensures efficient navigation within your PayPal account.

Simulating PayPal Withdrawals in Sandbox Mode

To facilitate the simulation of user withdrawals for development and testing, activate PayPal Sandbox mode by selecting the “PayPal Sandbox” checkbox in your WordPress dashboard under “Settings > Digital Marketplace > Payments > Payment Methods.” Begin by logging into your PayPal Developer account to acquire your “REST API Apps” sandbox connection credentials. Proceed to “Settings > Digital Marketplace > Payments > Payment Methods” and input your sandbox connection credentials. It’s important to note that sandbox credentials differ from live credentials. This functionality enables the secure emulation of user withdrawals from your PayPal Developer account, creating a controlled environment for testing and development purposes. You can conveniently monitor and review all sandbox withdrawals directly from your PayPal Developer account during testing and development.

Once you are satisfied with the operational integrity of the plugin, remember to switch to live credentials. Before transitioning to live operations, ensure you hit reset in “Settings > Digital Marketplace” to maintain financial integrity. It is then safe to disable sandbox mode for PayPal in “Settings > Digital Marketplace > Payments.” Open your PayPal Business account and acquire your live client ID and Secret under “REST API Apps,” input your credentials – then hit save. These credentials have access to your finances and allow external users to withdraw earnings directly from your PayPal Business account.

The reset function will clear accumulated payment buffers, service fee charges, delete WooCommerce orders, and reset all wallets to zero, providing a clean slate to transition into live operations. Do not input your live credentials until you have completed this important step. Failure to reset the plugin following sandbox mode could result in additional service fee charges and inaccuracies in the accounting of the plugin.
